Totoro

Materials:

• Sculpey polymer clay (black, grey, and white)
• Acorn cap
• Red sand from a favorite beach
• Tree bark
• Tempura & acrylic paint
• Insulator foam
• Elmer's glue

I picked up an acorn cap while on a hike with my sister. After bringing it home I wondered, "What if a tiny creature had been sleeping inside when I found it?"

Each sculpture brings together unused elements from abandoned projects, memories from treasured life experiences, and a love of Hayao Miyazaki.
